Daily Math Quest

Eight math questions a day for grades 3 to 5 — the same eight for everyone, everywhere, until midnight. It takes about two minutes, there is no sign-up, and there are no ads. Finish it and you can copy a spoiler-free result to share.

What is in a Daily Quest

Every day's eight questions walk the same path through the grade 3 to 5 curriculum, getting a little harder as they go.

  • Addition — multi-digit, with regrouping
  • Subtraction — multi-digit, with borrowing
  • Multiplication — times tables and beyond
  • Fractions — adding with like and unlike denominators
  • Division — facts and larger quotients
  • Decimals — adding, and multiplying by a whole number
  • Percentages — finding a percent of a number
  • Algebra — solving for x in one and two steps

How the streak works

Finish the quest on consecutive days and your streak grows. Miss a day and it starts again at one. Your best streak is kept so a reset never erases what you managed before.

The streak lives in your own browser and is never sent anywhere. There is no account, no login and no way for anyone else to see it — clearing your browser data clears the streak with it.

For teachers

The Daily Quest works well as a warm-up: it is short, it is the same for every student in the room, and nobody needs an account to start. Because everyone nationwide gets the same eight questions, a class can compare answers without anyone logging in.

The last month of quests stays available, so a day missed to a field trip or a snow day can still be set as homework. Class links let you preset a grade and a skill and reuse the same short URL all year.

Why a daily puzzle at all

Short daily practice beats a long session once a week for building arithmetic fluency, because recall improves with spacing rather than with total time spent. Two minutes a day is a realistic amount for a nine-year-old to sustain.

Outside the United States this is a daily maths puzzle; the topics are the same ones taught in Years 3-6 of the Australian Curriculum, Key Stage 2 in England, Grades 3-5 in Ontario and Levels 2-4 of the New Zealand Curriculum.
